The disorder I live in/ The table is served

This is an ongoing photography project which started when lockdown began in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, where Mariela was living.

These images were born from a desire to survive all the sudden changes: the fall of all the future projects, the job loss, the uncertainty, the 20m2 room for two—which became her whole world during the one year for which she had a permit to live in this incredible city—closed borders, and her being trapped in this country really far away from home.

As her life became just decisions of what to have for breakfast, lunch or dinner, she started to photograph these ordinary things as a way to survive and take care of her mental health.
